Gros Ventre Slide
On June 23, 1925, after several days of heavy rains and rapid snow melt, the north slope of Sheep Mountain collapsed, damming the Gros Ventre River. Lower Slide Lake formed behind the dam, flooding a small town two years later when the dam failed.
