Doane Rock
Doane Rock is the largest exposed glacial boulder on Cape Cod.
Great Island
The Herring River drainage is an east to west drainage. It once flowed directly west to Cape Cod Bay, isolating Great Island.
Kettle Ponds
There are some 365 freshwater ponds on Cape Cod. Most of these are kettle ponds, formed when blocks of glacial ice left depressions that filled with fresh water.
Pamet River Valley
The Pamet River Valley is a prominent drainage that is a result of melt water runoff from east to west during the last glacial period. The system is an estuary in its westward section, and a freshwater habitat in its eastern portion.
Pleasant Bay
Harboring 7,285 acres of saltwater at high tide, it is the largest bay contiguous to the Cape Cod National Seashore, and is bordered by the towns of Chatham, Harwich, Brewster and Orleans.
