Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Clingmans Dome
At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is the highest point in the park, the highest point in Tennessee, and the third-highest point in the Appalachian mountain range. Only Mt. Mitchell (6,684 feet) and Mt. Craig (6,647) in Mt. Mitchell State Park rise higher.

Meigs Falls
Waterfalls adorn most every stream in the Smokies. Only one waterfall, Meigs Falls, is visible from the road. It is 12.9 miles west of the Sugarlands Visitor Center, near the Townsend Wye.

Red Wolves
Only 350 red wolves remain in the world, and about 25 of them live within Great Smoky Mountains NP. They are not a threat to humans. Most of them inhabit the area between Cades Cove and the Sugarlands Visitor Center.
